This rack of meat has been out drying in the dusty street for days. It must drive the neighbourhood dogs mad. Just one more reason why I'm glad to be vegetarian!
Apologies for putting this in the comment box, but I couldn't figure out how to contact you directly otherwise - so here goes:
I hope you had a happy and healthy New Year's and have hopped off to a fast start in "The Year of the Rabbit" (2011)!
At Expat Arrivals.com we decided to minimize the grumble that most people can't help but avoid when getting back to the grind by rewarding some of our favourite expat bloggers with an accolade long overdue. We spent a good deal of time collecting, evaluating and ultimately choosing which sites were worthy of award, and now I have the pleasure of offering you a 2011 Expat Arrivals Blog Award.
To accept this award please email me at stephanie@expatarrivals.com so I can send you the uniquely designed trophy and have you link back to the site.
Furthermore, have a look at the piece we've published on the top 10 elite bloggers and the criteria we used to choose your site and others as the best of the best.
Hi there, I found your blog very interesting. I think you are great blogger and just wondering why don't you write on local blog platforms like for example http://theblogger.com.au ? Sites like these are more search engines friendly for your local community plus you can earn some cash from advertising! Wish you the best and I have bookmarked your blog! Cheers

Tales from a self-proclaimed Aussie Nomad in Shanghai.
It took me all of my first 20 years to leave Australia, finally ending up in Dili, East Timor in 2000. Since then I haven't wanted to stop traveling. Yet, as simply holidaying doesn't quite scratch the travel-bug's itch, I much prefer to live, work and play in the countries I visit. In my opinion, as insane as it can make you at times, cultural immersion is much more fulfilling than a postcard holiday.
Now I am living in Shanghai, with my better half, Philippe, and 20 million others. An artist, teacher and nomad, I embarked on this latest journey in August 2005.
And like the best journeys, its final destination is a mystery.
