Todays photo was taken of me by Phil as I had a slight panic attack
after reaslising I knew what the "t" in Captain James T Kirk (of Star

A typical Shanghai silhouette: power lines, a crane, buildings and a
few trees. And if you look very closely in the foreground you can just
make out a few cyclists.

The dentist 'menu' and the Chinese dental hosital I am currently
having a root canal proceedure at. The wall contains headshots of the
all the dentists, their credentials and speciaties- patients choose
who they want to see then go to the cashier to pay before seeing them.

Living overseas turns mundane grocery items into a special treat: this

With the largest Chinese notes being equal to about $14.50, you need a
pretty big purse just to pay rent! I always feel more like I am paying
a ransom than rent.
