My friend, Anna, and I took her baby, Max, on the Shanghai metro
yesterday. In peak hour. It wa positively suicidal but we couldn't get
a taxi. I tried to tale a photo of how crowded it was, but I just
couldn't back up far enough. You can just make out the top of Max's
pram in the bottom of the picture.

Best (and only) Pavlova in Shanghai. For you non-Aussies, pavlova is a
great Aussie desert (although the Kiwis claim it is from New Zealand)
made of merengue base, topped with fresh cream, assorted fruit and
passionfruit.
