In a very secluded private Shanghai park today for a picnic. It really
felt like we were out of the city. Ah the serenity.

Replica fake food in the front window of a restaurant. This supposedly
appetising selection is designed to make you want to enter and try
it's real counterpart on the menu. However plastic food generally
turns me off eating altogether.

Wooden boards lining the lobby of our apartment building to protect
the floor from the construction and renovations that have been going
on for 18 months. The building is brand new but it is the job of the
apartment owners to complete the interiors of the unfinished apartments.

With the incredibly high rate of bicycle theft in Shanghai (Phil's had
four stolen), fold-up bicycles are very common. They are small and
compact so you can easily bring them into your apartment or office
building. However, I always feel like grown adults sitting on these
under-sized bikes look like circus clowns.

These creepy prehistoric looking black fish (there's one camoflaged in
the sand) suck all at algae in the fish tank. The do such a good job
that combined with our mediocre filter I literally NEVER clean our tank.

My (early) birthday present to Phil: his Secret James Bond Bar (as he
calls it). Disguised as an antique Chinese cabinet the entire front
swivels open to reveal a bar and wine rack. One of the benefits of
living in Shanghai is being able to have pieces like these custom-made
at reasonable prices.
